Smooth Jazz Reviews by Sheila E. Ross
With much thanks to my dad, since childhood, I listened to jazz and as an adult began writing for in spring of 2018. For this online magazine, I review artists’ music CDs and write in-depth reviews for the readership. I attend concerts, shows, and festivals at beautiful venues across the United States and share the excitement of these shows with the readers, listeners and fans.  To help readers gain an up-close view, I conduct insightful artist interviews so that audience members attain a more in-depth personal view of what being an artist is like.

My growing treasure chest of writing includes west coast guitarist, Nils, saxophonist, Marion Meadows, saxophonist, Jazmin Ghent, west coast violinist, Josh Vietti, west coast saxophonist, Dave Koz, trumpeter, Willie Bradley, Raul Midon, Albare and more. In 2018, I served as co-host with Mr. Jonathan Scott Young, CEO of 7Flavors of Smooth Jazz on jprgradio. The art of sharing the music over the airwaves for our listeners promotes the music and provides another way for us to uplift all artist.

My success with music comes mostly from self-appreciation and self-application with my 20 plus years of music following. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, New York, Atlanta, Georgia has been my home since the mid 80’s.  I have three children, Kimberly M. Ross and Marcus E. Ross of Atlanta and Keyona S. Johnson of Niagara Falls and 3 grandchildren.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from Brenau University, a Secondary English Georgia Teacher Certification from the University of West Georgia and a Master of Secondary English Education from the University of West Georgia. As long as we have students, I will keep teaching. As long as we have smooth jazz, I will keep listening, reviewing and writing.
